Bangalore, India – November 2025 – Indio Networks participated in the IEEE Connecting the
Unconnected (CTU) APAC Summit 2025 in Bangalore, a regional initiative under IEEE’s
global mission to bridge the digital divide. The summit convened stakeholders from
technology, policy, and community development to explore practical approaches for
extending reliable connectivity to underserved and unconnected populations.
The CTU APAC Summit was part of the global IEEE Connecting the Unconnected (CTU)
Program, an initiative dedicated to bridging the digital divide by expanding access to
connectivity, technology, and digital literacy for underserved communities. The 2025
edition marked the fifth year of the program, which has combined global innovation
challenges with regional summits since 2021.
As part of the summit, Rishi Ghare, CEO of Indio Networks, participated in a panel
discussion titled “Enablers for Connecting the Unconnected”, which explored the role of
technology, policy, standards, open-source frameworks, and real-world use cases in
advancing digital inclusion.
During the discussion, Indio Networks shared insights from its active participation
in India’s PM-WANI Public Wi-Fi Program and its large-scale connectivity deployments
across emerging markets, including Africa. These experiences highlighted how open,
cloud-managed Wi-Fi networks can enable scalable and cost-effective internet access in
underserved regions.
The CTU APAC Summit was co-located with the Future Network World Forum 2025,
providing a collaborative platform for industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and
community stakeholders to engage on the future of connectivity and inclusive network
development.
