A community WiFi platform built to bring affordable Internet access to places that traditional broadband can't easily reach.

Connectivity can change what a community can access, learn, and build. But extending the Internet to rural and underserved areas is not only a connectivity challenge. It is a deployment, affordability, management, and sustainability challenge.

Indio Connect brings together the technology and business model needed to operate community WiFi at scale, helping operators, local entrepreneurs, governments, and service providers deliver affordable Internet access across underserved communities.

Indio Connect Dashboard

Connecting a Community Takes More Than a Hotspot

A community WiFi network needs more than a hotspot. It requires reliable deployment, simple operations, user authentication, affordable access, and a sustainable business model. Operators need to manage the network remotely, local partners need a way to deliver connectivity, and users need a simple way to discover and access affordable Internet.

Indio Connect brings these pieces together in a single community WiFi platform.

When Traditional Infrastructure Isn't Practical

Remote communities often face a combination of low population density, difficult terrain, limited infrastructure, and high deployment costs. In these environments, traditional wired broadband can be difficult to extend economically.

WiFi provides a practical way to distribute connectivity across community spaces, while satellite, cellular, or other available backhaul technologies can provide the connection to the Internet.

Indio has specifically used satellite-based connectivity in underserved regions, including through its work with Hughes Networks, where Indio Connect was used to create a managed WiFi service across remote locations.

Make WiFi Sustainable, Not Just Available

The biggest challenge for community connectivity isn't getting a hotspot online. It is keeping it running.

Indio Connect supports a multi-level operating model where operators, distributors, retailers, and service providers can participate in delivering connectivity. Its wallet-based transactions, commissions, data packs, vouchers, and micro-billing capabilities allow connectivity to become a service that can generate revenue throughout the ecosystem.
